Are you a railroad baron?

Can you float your company on the stock market? (Part 1)

Description

Running your own company and floating it on the stock market sounds daunting. This game is very competitive; however, players must work together and help each other to make money. I have included this game in the programme because it has a very simplified simulation of stocks and shares. It gives the students a rudimentary understanding of paying out dividends to shareholders as well as generating funds, by selling the shares of their companies’. They have to use the company’s money wisely to build railway track and make a profit.

Core game ideas covered

  • Paying out dividends
